Fighting style: In open spaces he wields a war scythe, while in enclosed and cramped spaces such as indoors he relies on his trusted tachi. He is extremely skilled with both, having used them for years, since his induction into the rebellion. he is fast, trading a flurry of blows, and has quick reflexes.
Weaknesses: Wearing only light armor, a strong strike from a big weapon (battleaxe, warhammer) could prove to be dire. Also firearms.

Nervous habits: Pacing. Also, once a day around noon and after a battle he smokes from a dark wooden pipe. The pipe belonged to his late father, his only physical memento of him.
Personality: Despite his loss, he tends to be optimistic for the outcome of Keren. He is protective and loyal to his friends, and tries to get to know new people. He is an excellent judge of character. Has a sense of humor, and loves puns, even terrible ones. He believes in bringing a government to Keren where the people have the power to choose their leader and laws by vote. He is willing to give his life for this cause if it is required.

Backstory: Shen was born and raised in Keren, a country ruled by a brutal dictator who crushed any opposition. His father was a blacksmith, his mother a doctor. he lived a relatively sheltered life, and was an only child. At the age of 15, he learned the truth about his country when imperial guards came for his family, led by a captain named Haka. The charges were treason. Shortly before the guards arrived, several warriors arrived at their family home. they took him and his mother to safety at their headquarters, while his father remained behind. It wasn't long before word of his fathers death reached them. Three days after this, a man came to see Shen. His name was Krann, and he wanted to recruit Shen to the underground rebellion to overthrow Emperor Damian. Shen  was about to decline, when a thought entered his mind. If they were to succeed, then would that mean no others would suffer the same fate as his father? He took a day to think, and when he met with the man again he agreed to join. the next three years were spent in training. He was a quick study, becoming an expert in his weapons of choice. At the age of 18 he undertook his first mission, one specially chosen just for him: assassinate the captain of the guard who arrested his father. He snuck into the barracks overnight and dealt with any targets who got in his way silently. Not by killing them, but rather by knocking them unconscious. He knew not all of the guards were corrupt, and he only had one target he had to kill. He reached Haka's quarters, snuck in but was overpowered by him, and had to make a hasty escape. He then returned to the rebellions headquarters. He stayed with them long after that, continuing his goal of ridding the country of Damian's malice. This has led him to his current mission: rescue a famed inventor and escort her to safety. Along the way, they make a stop at the great library...
